Why iPhone users are annoying

Last weekend, I had the opportunity to 6 other girls on a birthday
trip to Bowen Island.  I know the birthday girl, but the rest.. not so much.

It was A LOT of fun. we relaxed in their insane waterfront house, enjoyed delicious
food, and played games.

The weekend sadly came to an end, and we drove to the ferry to get in line.
There was about a 20 minute wait.. so we parked the car and chilled out.

Immediately, every girl in my car pulled out her iPhone. One girl had a blackberry.. but thats similar.

They played games.. facebooked.. texted.. chatted..it all looked.. quite fun.

now here i am..with my LG Rumor.. no iPhone(even though I am a web developer and I’m supposed to have these sort of things) in this car with 4 girls that i dont really know that well.  Normally, i would be like..
“GET OFF YOUR PHONES YOU PUNKS and talk to me!!” but.. that would kind of be awkward.

so i just sat there.

*twiddles thumbs*

*looks around*

*whistles*

*siiigggggggghhh*

its not like I can. draw pictures on the window.. or write..read. cause we are all squished in this tiny
car and I am in the middle!!

I hate iPhone users. we cannot even talk to each other!!!

Now, i must recognize in this rant, that even though i hate iPhone users, i STILL want to be one.

However, I would not neglect conversation in favor of that little gadget no matter how tempting it may be!

there are real people out there you know.. with mouths and stuff.

*end rant*

How I have come to loathe technology.

Oh, it has been an interesting few days.

Who knew that the tasks that appear to be so elementary,
are in reality back-breaking, malignant little rascals.

Yes…indeed.  Who knew.  Not I, said Laura.

But, as things slowly.  Wait…now, let me find a more appropriate word
so you can truly grasp the meaning when I say slow.

by slow, I mean: tedious and tiresome, and by those words i mean: it took me 3 days to print a document.

THREE.

*small sigh*

On the brighter side my friends, i have successfully printed said document, and have moved
onto other pesky tasks.
I smile as i write this, cause I know i’m learning some distant lesson about patience, endurance, or perseverance.  Really, its just a small taste of the colossal technology monster that is awaiting me
over the next 2 years in Interactive Design.

Maybe I should be grateful for this May Day baggy of reality that has been left on my doorstep.

Here is a visual depiction of what has been happening these past 3 days.
In case you don’t pick up on it…the cord is the long, deadly, and yet surprisingly useless printer cable
The white blob is my mighty mouse..which works..and i am happy with him..but he just loves the camera!

Technology plotting my death, or rather, successfully killing me.

Technology plotting my death, or rather, successfully killing me.

In other news,

Bubbles are Amazing!!

Seriously.  I took a bubble bath today, and just as I was in bubble heaven, the phone rang..
Now, I figured i better answer so i hobbled my way out of the bathroom and down the hallway…
leaving little fluffs of bubbles wherever i stepped.

Its been..maybe 5 hours, and those bubble have shrunk, but man, they are still there!!

Those little guys are just spectacular, and I suggest we all take a moment to appreciate
those itsy-bitsy buddies that:

Help wash your dishes
Make bubble baths possible and
Entertain your children for HOURS.

Can you think of any other amazing bubble uses?

let me know. fo sho.

Home dee Home

Yes its true.

I am in Vancouver.
its funny, how while I was away, I lost all desire to post on this blog except for once.
I guess I was too tired and would just rather sit around in the shade with an iced
drink in my hand when i had any free time. haha. sooo hot in malaysia.

but that didn’t last long…
I got used to the heat, so i wasn’t completely dying the entire time I was there.

Hopefully..a podcast/newsletter will be on the way asap.

right now..as a whole school we are debriefing and just winding down the school..
and its pretty busy.

in other news:

CHECK OUt this Adobe light-field camera :)
it pretty much mimics the eye of a fly and captures
the image dozens of times..so that you can choose your focus..

there’s a short movie as well at the bottom that shows an example of it a bit.

anyways. cool. the geek in me was SOOO happy inside. I want one.

Also..

did you know Sufjan Stevens was born in 1975? he’s old. but he doesn’t look old. see for yourself!
